WIN Announces 2007 Fellows

WIN, formerly Women’s Investment Network, the greater Philadelphia region’s only organization specifically for women who are leaders of and investors in high-growth businesses, announces its WIN 2007 Fellows: Denise Polacek, Elizabeth Long, and Chipo Jolibois. The 2007 Fellows were formally presented during the final WIN Leadership Series event and Iris Newman Award program held Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at the Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia.

Denise C. Polacek, Ph.D. is launching a new career. After inventing an automatic cooling device to relieve hot flashes in women, she has begun to identify her business plans and needs.  Lawyer Mary J. Mullany elaborates, “We will all be able to point to her and her company in the future and say we knew her when...”

Elizabeth Long is currently a student studying fashion merchandising at Philadelphia University.  Ms. Long’s academic path has been tailored to help her gain the insight and skills to become successful as an entrepreneur while simultaneously gaining experience as a manager in fashion retail.  As Dr. Meriem M. Chida describes, “Elizabeth has a passion for this field that is contagious to the people around her, students and professionals alike.”

Chipo Jolibois attended law school and passed the Pennsylvania and New Jersey general and patent law bars while employed by Rohm & Haas Company.  Ms. Jolibois is beginning her own Intellectual Property practice in Philadelphia. Her practice as one of the first women-owned Intellectual Property firms in the greater Philadelphia market.  Nominator Dr. Ruth Perry writes, “I can attest to her professionalism, high quality work ethic, and skill.”

During the term as a WIN Fellow, each woman will receive WIN membership (2 consecutive years), complimentary admission to all WIN events, exposure to investment resources, and mentoring from established WIN entrepreneurs.
