WIN, the Greater Philadelphia region's organization for women who are leaders and supporters of high-growth, entrepreneurial businesses, today announced that Jane Holmes Hollingsworth, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of NuPathe Inc., has been selected as this year's recipient of the Iris Newman Award.

The award was established in honor of Iris Newman, a founding member of WIN and a successful entrepreneur whose life-long goal was to support her fellow women entrepreneurs.  The Iris Newman Award is presented annually by WIN to a woman business leader in the Greater Philadelphia area who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to helping advance women entrepreneurs. 

The Iris Newman Award will be presented to Jane Hollingsworth at WIN’s Annual Celebration to be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at The Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia.  Marci Alboher, New York Times columnist and author of “One Person/Multiple Careers: The Book”, we be featured as the keynote speaker for the evening.

Ms. Hollingsworth is a veteran of several entrepreneurial companies and successful start-ups.  She currently serves as the CEO of NuPathe Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel therapeutic products in the area of neuroscience. 

Prior to NuPathe, Ms. Hollingsworth was a co-founder and officer of Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical company; she also served as general counsel to the company.  Formerly Ms. Hollingsworth was Vice President, Secretary & General Counsel of IBAH, Inc., a publicly-traded, multinational CRO that successfully developed and obtained regulatory approval for many pharmaceutical and biotechnology compounds.   Ms. Hollingsworth left IBAH to form Auxilium when IBAH was sold to Omnicare Inc. in 1998. Ms. Hollingsworth is an alumna of  Villanova University School of Law, Villanova, Pennsylvania and  Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
