Ilyse Shapiro selected winner of Annual Best 50 Women in Business

Winners of Pennsylvania's 2008 Best 50 Women in Business awards were announced by Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell on Tuesday.

Winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges based on their dedication to business growth, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement, and advocacy for women in business. To qualify, recipients had to be Pennsylvania residents and in a position with significant authority in decision-making.

Several events, including an evening reception at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg, will be held on May 19 for the winners, who will also be highlighted in special supplements in several business journals throughout the state.
