Annette Tobia's company finds compounds that may slow aging process...
JENKINTOWN -- Researchers at a small Montgomery County biotechnology company have discovered a class of compounds that they believe may lead to
new treatments for a host of inflammatory diseases -- and possibly even away to slow the aging process. Dr. Annette Tobia, the president and founder of Dynamis Therapeutics, said
the company has filed a patent for the discovery and intends to initially seek to develop the compounds to treat diabetic kidney disease and
retinopathy.
Funding the development of the compounds will require Dynamis to deviate from its history of not selling off major pieces of equity in the company
to investors. The company is looking for possible venture capital funding.
"We went a long way without requiring venture capital, but we really want to move forward on this," Tobia said. "It's really exciting."
