Anne-Marie Corner heads a wholly owned subsidiary of Cellegy, focused on the development of products in the areas of reproductive health and infectious disease. She oversees all areas of women's health product development, including new drug development, clinical and regulatory affairs, grant and finance operations, and business development. Formerly, Anne-Marie was President and Chief Executive Officer of Biosyn. In her role as Chief Executive Officer, she raised significant amounts of venture capital and grant funding, completed the acquisition of three major HIV-related compounds, and successfully led the progress of Biosynís lead HIV prevention drug from discovery through to Phase III clinical trials. Additionally, she oversaw the progress of two other HIV-related drugs through the preclinical and clinical process. She brought about several major collaborations for Biosyn with organizations in the HIV arena to advance development of the Biosyn portfolio. In 2004, she successfully brought about the sale of Biosyn to Cellegy for close to $40 million. Previously, Anne-Marie was a Researcher in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Anne-Marie has over twenty years of experience in biomedical research and drug development, and is considered a leader in the development of HIV preventive drugs. She has testified at the White House Conference on AIDS, and several times before the Presidentís Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. Ms. Corner is a Member of the Board of Directors of several organizations including the Alliance for Microbicide Development, WIN, and the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Association. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Institute for Science, Technology and Business at LaSalle University. Among her many awards and honors, Anne-Marie has been recognized as the Ernst & Young 2001 Entrepreneur of the Year; the Committee of 200 Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year; as one of the Fifty Best Business Women in Pennsylvania; and has been given the Philadelphia Woman of Distinction award Anne-Marie holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BSc with honors in Chemistry and Biology from Manchester Polytechnic, UK. She is married with two daughters. |
