Jane Hollingsworth
AWE Board, Membership Committee Chair
CEO, Nupathe Inc.
Jane is co-founder and CEO of NuPathe Inc., a Philadelphia area specialty pharmaceutical company developing
innovative products for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric diseases. In a short time, NuPathe has
developed and quickly advanced a product pipeline that includes treatments to address some of patients’ critical
needs. Zelrix™, the first and only transdermal patch for the treatment of acute migraine, offers patients
unprecedented control over their migraine by eliminating key barriers to successful treatment - nausea, high dose
side-effects and inconsistent drug absorption. Nupathe is also developing a long acting treatment for the
underserved Parkinson’s disease market to provide, with a single dose, consistent relief from Parkinson’s symptoms
for months at a time
Prior to founding NuPathe, Jane was the co-founder and Executive Vice President of Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, a
specialty pharmaceutical company with a focus on urology. Within five years of its founding, Auxilium successfully
raised four private rounds of financing, developed, obtained FDA approval for and launched its first product and
completed an initial public offering. Auxilium is currently a thriving, growing specialty pharmaceutical company in
the Philadelphia area.
Prior to founding and launching two successful specialty pharmaceutical companies, Ms. Hollingsworth was Vice
President, Secretary & General Counsel of IBAH, Inc., a publicly-traded, multinational CRO that successfully
developed and obtained regulatory approval for many pharmaceutical and biologic products. Before joining IBAH, Ms.
Hollingsworth was a commercial litigator at the Philadelphia law firm of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads and
served as law clerk to the Honorable Jane R. Roth of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
Ms. Hollingsworth is one of the leaders of the biotech community in Philadelphia and is active in fostering the
growth of entrepreneurship in biotech and other industries.
